January 24, 2003:  Today we follow Bay Colony GP-9R No. 1702 on the morning trash train.  We begin at Pocasset, on the Falmouth line, as 1702 is returning light engine to Canal Junction, having delivered the empty trash cars to the transfer station on Otis Air Force Base.  At Canal Junction 1702 picks up the cars for Yarmouth, and after shoving back onto the bridge, heads down the Cape Main.  The first car on the Yarmouth string is a flat car with four empty containers, used for transporting sludge.
